Warsteiner is a German bottom-fermented lager, produced by the Warsteiner Brauerei, a brewery active since 1753 in the town of Warstein, Germany when the farmer Antonius Cramer began producing beer for sale as well as for domestic consumption. The manufacturer's motto is Eine Königin unter den Bieren (in Italian "A regina among beers"), with a clear reference to the crown drawn in the beer symbol. Produced with a fine local variety of hops, Warsteiner stands out as a pilsner beer for its hoppy aroma, slightly bitter taste and for its freshness and digestibility.
